You know what they say about planting a tree? The best time to do it was 20 years ago. The second best time to do it is today.
We have three programs this year dedicated to help you plant your own startup tree. We can't help you with 20 years ago of course but we can really give you a massive boost in starting things today.
In each edition we guide you through a design thinking process to work out what your idea is, who is your best customer to start with and how you test and learn with them to iteratively build something awesome.
There are in person and asynchronous elements threaded together to give you the best experience and ways to participate that make sense for you.

February & May 2025 Lisbon
These programs are set to run in person over 5 days. Your time together as a cohort will include specially curated experiences to help you develop a team, interview customers, build a Minimum Viable Product and test it out.
In addition to attending a demo night in Lisbon during the program and getting an opportunity for early feedback from the Canopy community you will also complete the program with a [remote] pitch event showcasing how far you've come with the idea.
Each day will bring a new experience, with practical support and guidance. Alongside this our platform will give you an opportunity to learn about things at your own pace, in your own way.
Program 1 is scheduled to start Monday February 24th.
Program 2 is schedued to start Monday May 25th.
Leadership
Our programs have been developed using the experience and wisdom of the Canopy In Residence team.
The team have specialist skills and experience built from starting, growing and exiting many companies between them. This is very much a week built by Founders for Founders.
It is also lead and shaped by two inspiring members of the team - Tomas and Chloe.
With a combination of startup experience, program leadership experience and academic experience Chloe and Tomas bring a special recipe.
The goal of how the programs are organised is to enable you to in practical ways to be confident with the tools of entrepreneurship & to know through the experience of learning by doing that things you take away will work.
At Canopy programs, entrepreneurship is a verb (not a noun!). Let's go!
August 2025 Remote edition
This program is run remotely over 5 days. Your time together as a cohort will be different to the in person edition, but this specially designed approach can be more easily fitted around your vacation plans and other committments.
Modules and experiences over the week will be asynchronous and built to help you develop a team, interview customers, build a Minimum Viable Product and test it out.

Program Fees or Equity based?
"Canopy programs are non equity based. This means that you keep all the stock in your company.
We therefore operate each program with a program fee of Euro 1000 per person that attends. If you complete the full program and have 100% attendance we refund you Euro 250 after the pitch event.
Thanks to some grant funding we've received this year to support the programs we are also able to offer a limited number of scholarship places. If you'd like to apply for one of those then tell us when you register your interest and we'll talk you through what to do.
Please note scholarship places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Canopy remembers receive a priority place on all programs, and a a 15% discount on paid places."
